Adult and Kid programing open to drop ins tomorrow (SAT)

Hi there -- I'm opening Saturday programs to drop-ins.

KIDS CREATE!!
Kids 8 to 11 are invited to drop in for a Yoga/Art course from 10 to 11:30 am. If you were wondering if your kid would like this course come out and try it!!! Boys and girls are already booked into this class. We do power yoga from 10 to 10:30 (yes boys love this -- it's very athletic!). And then for 10:30 to 11:30 we do an art project. We are experimenting with all kinds of media. So far we've made dragon puppets, animated, and started a wood sculpture. Tomorrow we'll be working with video and continuing our sculptures -- drop ins will be able to catch up on this quickly.

$15 per kid.

ADULTS CREATE!!

artiste et innovatrice

I know this could be considered a bit of a vain post but I don't care. We all need to celebrate our successes and I'm no different. This photo is from La Voie de l'emploi - October/November issue. The success that I'm celebrating here is that I have a history of being terrified of speaking in front of people. This summer I was thrown into the to spotlight having pulled a basket together for Regis and Kelly. I tell ya I nearly bolted when Pat Martel said we were on in 10 seconds. But I literally said a prayer - "dear God, Universe, whoever/whatever you are, please let me say what I need to say for the good of myself and everyone involved." I focused on moving energy through my heart instead of words from my head and guess what. I did great! This photo is from the Cultural Forum where we were asked to speak to the role of culture in our economy. I immediately said yes when I was asked to be on this panel - despite my fears. I didn't give my head a chance to talk. And when I got there - 10 secs before it was my turn the fear crept in and once again I said my prayer. I'm telling you I am not a religious woman but this tiny little reminder that I'm here to do some good in this world and that there is help out there was enough to calm me down and let me speak from the heart. It was a good feeling.

So this paper called me an "artiste et innovatrice" and that was just lovely. I'll wear that title with pride. :)

A KICK IN THE ASS

Okay - so the last 4 months have certainly been a whirlwind for me. With opening MUSE, changing my living situation, putting on the Witches Ball, meeting all of you amazing people and trying to be the best mother I can be, I've seen myself let go of some of the activities and rituals that got me here in the first place. Now feeling tired, achy and ,yeah, a bit cranky, I'm finding that I'm in desperate need of re-establishing a daily routine that will invigorate me and bring me back to the place that I was when I opened MUSE.

So to do this I've decided to open MUSE early in the mornings Wed, Thurs, and Fri - 8:00am to 9am - to do a morning ritual that will include some yoga, meditation and visualization. There may be days that I throw in an art project like a small "intention collage'. Entry will be by donation. I won't be doing instruction - this will be more about sharing the experience and building a practice, giving people and myself a structure to work with that will helps us get into a routine. The front door will be open from 8:00 to 8:15 but will be locked after that. Late comers can come in quietly through the back entrance. I'm looking so forward to this. I hope you take me up on this offer cause it's easier to do this with a support system.

I have mats and will supply the visualizations and art supplies. You just need to bring your butts into the studio before work! If you don't know yoga - you can follow me or you can stretch or just increase your meditation time. MUSE is an amazing place to settle and allow the energy to pour into you. You'll leave the place ready for your day!!
